You’ve pursued a variety of careers in your life. Which of them was what you wanted to do when you were a teenager?
Oh, I wanted to be a model then. It couldn’t have been farther from where I am now.
And did you model?

Subliminal and intangible discrimination is holding women back in the workforce and helping to entrench the nation’s gaping gender pay gap, a report argues.

When it comes to workplace equality, we’ve come a long way — long enough for some to say men are on the decline. Statistics show more women than men are now earning college degrees, more women than men are employed, and women are climbing the corporate ladder in record numbers. But the data also show a persistent wage gap, and very small percentages of women at the very top across multiple industries.
Why? Slow-to-change gender stereotypes are of course partly to blame — no one disputes that. And research indicates that …

Ex top UK Microsoft executive Natalie Ayres was paid over £1million after the computing giant was felt to have unfairly passed her over for the company’s highest UK position.
Ayres, who has since left the company, had been with Microsoft for 15 years, rising through the ranks to the senior position of general manager of its Small-Medium Enterprises and Partners Group.
She had been expected to take over from Alistair Baker as Microsoft UK managing director in 2006, but was passed over in favour of Microsoft South Africa general manager Gordon Frazer.
It’s …
